A VR exhibition curated by ICA Student Forum will be launched this Wednesday 7 December from 18-21:00pm. The evening offers a discussion around VR technology for young artists and the chance to experiment with viewing devices such as Google cardboard glasses and Oculus Rift.
A special event marking the launch of a web platform for this VR exhibition co-curated by ICA Student Forum members Cristina Vasilescu, Will Webster and Perry-James Sudgen. Seen as a side door to the ICA, this virtual reality (VR) exhibition provides an experimental space where works by young artists are curated in a virtual reconstruction of a studio-kitchen. Staged in conjunction with Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2016, this VR module probes discourses about alternative means for emerging artists to exhibit.
Come to the launch to take part in an informal discussion around the uses and pitfalls of VR technology for young artists, and experiment with viewing devices such as Google cardboard glasses and Oculus Rift designed to enhance the visiting experience.
Artists included: Juan Covelli, Sarah Fortais, David Kefford, Nicola Lorini, Lugh O’Neill, Nora Silva, Susannah Stark and Will Webster.
This event is taking place in the ICA Upper Bar (Day Membership entry)
