A museum celebrating the work of the Japanese artist known as the ‘queen of polka dots’ has opened in Tokyo.
Yayoi Kusama’s career has spanned more than seven decades. Her work commands some of the highest prices of any living female artist. Kusama’s work is based in conceptual art and shows some attributes of feminism, minimalism, surrealism, Art Brut, pop art, and abstract expressionism, and is infused with autobiographical, psychological, and sexual content.
